## What is CERTAFI?
CERTAFI is a certification evidence and release record system between tiny home builders and the certification bodies that review them.

One line: Certification bodies and the builders they work with, on one system of record.

CERTAFI is not a certification body. CERTAFI does not certify homes, inspect construction, approve work, or determine compliance with building codes or standards. Every pass or fail is attributed to a named inspector at a certification body. Builders with no certification body can still use CERTAFI for their own records.

## What does CERTAFI do?
- Lets builders document each Build with staged photos, video, and structured test results
- Lets certification bodies review submissions inside the platform
- Stores searchable, exportable records while an account can access the Service
- Records file hashes at ingest and checks them on retrieval, with an append-only audit history
- Provides a free customer portal for progress the builder chooses to share
- Works standalone when no certification body is assigned

CERTAFI does not independently confirm location, time, or any fact about a unit. Live in-app capture stores device-reported metadata when the device provides it. Imported uploads are allowed and labeled as imported.

## How does it work?
1. The builder documents each stage.
2. If a certification body is assigned and approved, the builder submits for review. Otherwise the builder marks stages complete themselves.
3. Inspectors at the certification body pass or fail stages. CERTAFI never makes that determination.
4. The builder can publish a Build Record. CERTAFI does not guarantee that every record will remain publicly available forever.

## Certification programs
CERTAFI works alongside independent certification programs such as RVIA, NOAH, and PWA as a records platform. It does not speak for, replace, or claim endorsement by those organizations.
